you take another step, as a shadowy figure comes from behind her throne

A blade comes down onto the QUEEN's head, splitting it in two. Her carapace bubbles, as if it's been hit with acid.

you jolt back in fear

The shaky breathing stops. An imposing figure grabs her corpse and tosses it inside.

Trouble dressed in stark red.

you ask the figure who it is, what were it's motives

there's more than that you could ask. if you really value time alive, you'd back the fuck away from me and ask a few different questions.

The figure raises his curved blade. A putrid liquid drips off of it, hitting the floor with a sickening HISS.

you ask it if it was the one who actually called us here

Oh shit you just realized you haven't been checking in on the ROYALTY. Damn kids could be halfway to Skaia by now. You tune one of the WALLS to show the "lord"'s cell. Yeah, it's empty. What a headache.

You use the WALL to display the so-called LORD's current location.

Looks like he's winning at poker. Against your own men, too.

You have got to be kidding you. You radio the Droll and tell him to get his shit together. You got it, boss, he says. He goes all-in on a Jack and a 2.

Back in your office, you begin your plan. You call up your inside man on Prospit, the MALICIOUS KINGMAKER. You inform him that he is to acquire the WHITE QUEEN'S RING by any means necessary and bring it to you. He tells you to fuck off. You tell him it would be a shame if evidence of his past misdeeds were to leak to the Prospitian government. He says fuck you, and says he'll start making preparations immediately.
